Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya (The Beginning and the End)
Al-Bidaya wa al-Nihaya is one of the most important historical references. The author begins with the creation of the heavens and the earth and continues to the eighth century AH. For events before the Prophet, peace be upon him, he relies on Quranic verses, hadith and other transmitted reports. From the start of the Prophet's mission he treats each year on its own, describing its important events in full detail. This is a revised and documented edition, compared against other manuscripts, with the Quranic verses referenced and footnotes explaining obscure passages and older terms.
