Al-Muntazam fi Tarikh al-Muluk wa al-Umam (The Well-Ordered History of Kings and Nations)
One of the most important works of history and a standard reference in the field. The author begins with the Creation and the first inhabitants of the earth and continues to the late sixth century AH. Al-Muntazam differs from the histories before it in combining a year-by-year account of events with some 3,300 biographies of caliphs, kings, viziers, jurists, hadith scholars, historians, philosophers, poets, authors and others. This edition carries important studies and critical notes.
