<p>Following the successful minting of gold in Damascus, the capital issued its silver coinage in the same year. This Damascene dirham complemented the state’s comprehensive economic project. While gold was reserved for major transactions, silver served the daily economy.</p> <p>Circulating through the capital’s markets, this piece facilitated everyday commerce, from labor wages to standard market goods. It features the same precise Kufic calligraphy found on the capital’s dinars, formally confirming the removal of Sasanian imagery.</p> <p>Its lighter weight indicates its practical use in swift daily transactions.
