Extremely Rare Umayyad Dirham (Minted in Marw, 79 AH) – Reign of Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan

Local artisans engraved the city’s name with evident pride, formally stamping its new identity as a global Islamic center.</p> <p>Its rarity stems from being among the earliest Arabized issues in these distant lands.
