Abbasid Dinar (Minted in 134 AH) Reign of Abu al-Abbas Abdullah al-Saffah
A golden charter from the dawn of the Abbasid State, struck in the third year of the new Caliphate. This dinar, which does not cite a mint city, bears the features of the grand transitional phase in Islamic history. The state replaced Umayyad gold with Abbasid gold bearing the slogans of the victorious revolution.
