Umayyad Dirham (Minted in Ramhormuz, 128 AH) – Reign of Marwan ibn Muhammad

Ramhurmuz is one of the early Umayyad mints. It worked between 79 and 97 AH, with interruptions. In 128 AH, its name returned to silver, struck by those who rose against the state. This dirham bears the verse from Surat al-Shura: "Say, I ask of you no reward for it except love for my kinsfolk." The year 128 AH is the last recorded year of striking at the mint.
