At the far western edge of the Islamic world, thousands of kilometres from Damascus, the Al-Andalus mint worked from 103 to 125 AH. This dirham left the mint in 120 AH, under Hisham ibn Abd al-Malik, twenty-eight years after the conquest of 92 AH. It carried the state's voice to its western frontier.
