Ahsan al-Taqasim fi Ma'rifat al-Aqalim (The Best Divisions for Knowledge of the Regions)
One of the most important works of Islamic geography, written by Shams al-Din al-Muqaddasi (d. about 380 AH). It describes the regions of the Islamic world, their towns, their trade and the conditions of their people, and gives information on the coins, weights and measures in use in each region.
