Ansab al-Ashraf (The Genealogies of the Nobles)
A vast historical encyclopedia by al-Baladhuri, arranged by genealogy. It begins with the life of the Prophet, then turns to the Banu Hashim, the Banu Umayya and other Arab tribes, and holds a wealth of material on the Rightly Guided and Umayyad periods.
