A political history of the Fatimid state from its rise to its end in two parts: the first on the Fatimids in Ifriqiya and the Maghrib, the second on their move to Egypt, their eastward expansion into Syria and the last phase of their rule, based on contemporary historians and geographers and modern studies, with an approach that seeks neutrality.
