It presents coins from antiquity (Lydian, Greek, Phoenician, Nabataean, Roman, Palmyrene, Sasanian and Byzantine) to Islamic coins, by way of the Arabization of coinage under Abd al-Malik ibn Marwan and the coins of the Abbasid, Ayyubid, Hamdanid, Buyid, Zangid, Mamluk and Ottoman states, with tables giving a full reading of the inscriptions on each piece.
